# XH-T02: A player timed out while loading the map (/docs/xhlds/codes/xh-t02)

On the console:

```text
[XH-T02] "<player>" timed out while loading the map (nothing received for 60 s)
```

**Printed:** with the engine's `<player> timed out`, [`xhlds_datagram_warnings`](/docs/xhlds/settings#xhlds_datagram_warnings) 1 or 2.

The player had entered the game, but their game stopped answering before it finished loading the map. A game usually sends nothing while it loads the map's models and sounds; when that takes longer than `sv_timeout` seconds, the engine drops the player.

**Is it a problem?** Some are normal, more with slow computers and phones. Many of them mean loading takes too long.

**What to do:** fewer or smaller custom models and sounds load faster. A longer `sv_timeout` gives slow players more time, but also keeps the slot of a player whose game crashed for that long.

## On the server [#on-the-server]

[`xhlds_explain XH-T02`](/docs/xhlds/commands#xhlds_explain) prints this explanation on the server console, also over rcon.
