Optymous is our game server panel
control.hostsrc.com
Optymous runs here. It is where you manage your Hostsrc servers.
We knew Pterodactyl could be better, so we forked it and built the panel we wanted. That's how Optymous started.
Hostsrc customers use it today. We're building it for other game server providers too, with a first beta planned for Q2 to Q3 2027.
Host a Counter-Strike 1.6 server with us and you manage it in Optymous.

Edit configs, plugins and maps from the keyboard. Every shortcut shows the right keys for Mac or Windows.
Keyboard shortcuts
- CtrlPorCmdP

Search names and contents
Search file names across the whole server, or search inside files to find which config sets a cvar.
Game configs highlighted
The editor gives
.cfg,.iniand.propertiesfiles the right highlighting.FastDL in one click
One button in the file manager sets your files up for FastDL. Each sync is logged.
SFTP one click away
Your SFTP details are in the panel, with a link that opens the connection.
Schedules, backups and databases
Your server's time zone
Pick your server's time zone in Settings, with its UTC offset beside it. Schedules run in that zone, and the game gets it too. A schedule can keep a zone of its own.
Back up files or a database
Back up the server's files or one of its databases. Start a backup by hand, or add it to a schedule as a task. A deleted backup is kept for a retention period before it is removed.
Your databases
- Several users
- Give one database more than one user.
- Remote access
- Choose where the database accepts connections from, and change it later.
- Password rotation
- Rotate a user's password from the panel.
Run a community with your team
Invite people to a server by email and give each one a role. They accept the invitation from their own account.
- Owner
- Co-owner
- Moderator
- Member
These four come ready. You can add your own roles too, each with its own colour.
Activity panel
See who did what on the server. The panel refreshes on its own.
Keep a server private
Close any of your servers to the public and let in only the players you choose, such as friends, testers or a scrim team.
Sign-in and sessions
Sign in with your Hostsrc account, by email code, Google or Discord. You can sign out your other sessions from your account.
When something goes wrong
A banner when the node has trouble
If your server's node is reconnecting, unreachable or in maintenance, a banner says which. Pages that read from the panel stay usable.
Search the console, copy it for a ticket
Search the console output, then copy up to the last 5,000 lines in one go to paste into a ticket. On a phone, swipe to scroll and tap Bottom for the newest line.
Help from inside the panel
The panel's help menu links to a new support ticket and to our Discord.
Players online
The status bar shows a live player count on CS 1.6 servers and on other games that support it.
See how your server runs
Look back at how your server ran, not only how it runs now. The history has its own page in the panel.
History charts
- CPU
- Memory
- Network
- Disk I/O
Start, stop and crash markers sit on the same charts, at the moment each one happened.
Log search
Search your server's logs from the same page.
A CS 1.6 section
A Counter-Strike 1.6 section shows tickrate and the FPS maximum. It works once you set up the game integration on your server.
Built for game server providers
These are in Optymous today. Other game server providers get them with the first beta, planned for Q2 to Q3 2027.
Brand Studio
Put your own name, logos and favicon on the panel, from the sign-in page to the header. Change the navigation icons, the footer, banners and the console prompt too.
- Preview the result full screen.
- Restore an earlier revision.
- Export a brand and import it elsewhere.
Staff roles and an audit log
Staff get admin access by role, and the admin menu shows only what a role allows. A searchable audit log sits in the admin area.
Pterodactyl and Pelican eggs
Import game templates from the Pelican egg catalogs, eggs.pterodactyl.io or a URL. Optymous reads both formats, Pelican's YAML eggs included, and can update an egg from its source.
Tags
Tag your nodes, and the tags decide where new servers deploy.
Extensions
Extensions add pages, settings and permissions to the panel. Optymous checks that each one fits the panel version and looks for updates. The SDK comes with the beta.
API and documentation
The Client API reference is open to everyone, with no login. Your account links to it too, under API Credentials.
Markdown and llms.txt
The reference also comes as Markdown and in the panel's llms.txt, with a Copy for LLM button.
OpenAPI specs
Each API has an OpenAPI 3.1 spec, generated from the code.
JSON:API for providers
The Application API follows JSON:API. It covers nodes, eggs, users, roles and tags, among others.
Questions about Optymous
At control.hostsrc.com. That is Optymous.
Not yet. We're preparing Optymous for its first beta, planned for Q2 to Q3 2027. We're building it for game server providers, not only for Hostsrc.
Yes. Optymous started as a fork of Pterodactyl, an open-source game server panel under the MIT licence. Pterodactyl® is copyright Dane Everitt and contributors. Optymous is growing into its own ecosystem, with support for Pterodactyl and Pelican forks.
Not yet. With the beta, you'll be able to build extensions with our SDK, including ones that Pterodactyl v1 and v2 can't support.
Yes. The Client API reference (opens in a new tab) is open to everyone, with no login. It is also available as Markdown and in the panel's llms.txt.
