Updates are included for as long as the licence runs. Free on Hostsrc CS 1.6 servers. About xHLDS

  1. 3.15.0-hs.14

Clearer console messages, the rcon password hidden in logs, and xHLTV for the HLTV add-on.

    New

    • xHLTV, our HLTV proxy for the HLTV add-on, now ships with every release and keeps recording across map changes.

    Better

    • Console messages from xHLDS are now plain and short, and say what to check when something needs your attention.
    • The rcon password shows as *** in the console and the server log, so it no longer ends up in copies of them.

    Fixed

    • A spectator can no longer crash xHLTV by downloading a large file from it, such as a big banner.
  2. 3.15.0-hs.13

Fewer server stops caused by plugins and broken model files, and a notice when a newer xHLDS release is out.

    New

    • Servers you run on your own machines now say in the console when a newer xHLDS release is out, with a link to what changed.

    Fixed

    • A plugin that gives players a weapon model it never loaded no longer stops the server. The console names the model instead.
    • A model file that was cut short is named in the console, so you know which file to replace. xhlds_model_check 2 stops the server instead.
  3. 3.15.0-hs.12

A small release with one new feature for owners who run xHLDS on their own machines.

    New

    • Licences bought from Hostsrc now renew by themselves while they are paid, so you no longer replace the licence file by hand.
  4. 3.15.0-hs.11

Warnings for models that can crash your players' games, and a help command for every xHLDS setting.

    New

    • Models that can crash your players' games or the server are reported in a coded console line you can look up with xhlds_explain.
    • xhlds_help lists every xHLDS setting and command with a short description, also over rcon.

    Fixed

    • Long explanations from xhlds_explain are no longer cut short on the server console.
  5. 3.15.0-hs.10

A stuck server now restarts by itself, and xhlds_stats shows where joining players give up.

    New

    • A stuck server is reported like a crash, naming the plugin, and restarts by itself.
    • xhlds_stats shows how many players started joining, how many got in, and where the others gave up.
    • xhlds_stats also shows which players get their updates too late and see stutter.

    Better

    • Console lines about players who time out while joining now say how far they got.
  6. 3.15.0-hs.9

Console lines you can look up, clearer reports of what players miss, and full update rates with -pingboost 5.

    New

    • Some xHLDS console lines now carry a code, and xhlds_explain says what each one means and what to do.
    • xhlds_stats ends with a short summary of what players missed and who timed out.

    Better

    • With -pingboost 5, every player now gets the update rate they ask for.
    • Reports of what a player missed are one short line each, and players whose game has stopped answering are no longer reported again and again.
  7. 3.15.0-hs.8

Crash reports name the AMX Mod X plugin that was running, and player loss is shown correctly again.

    New

    • When the server crashes inside an AMX Mod X plugin, the crash report and the console line name that plugin. Works with AMX Mod X 1.9 and 1.10.

    Fixed

    • xhlds_stats no longer shows loss for players who lose nothing.
  8. 3.15.0-hs.7

Crash reports can now reach Hostsrc, a fuller server profile by default, and a fix for LAN servers.

    Better

    • After a crash, the report can go to Hostsrc so the cause gets fixed. Servers you run yourself send it only with xhlds_crash_owner set.
    • xhlds_stats now shows more about where the server spends its time, with no setting to change.

    Fixed

    • With sv_lan 1, players from some public addresses are no longer let in as if they were local.
  9. 3.15.0-hs.6

Protection against voice floods, crash reports, guards against plugin mistakes and a console filter.

    New

    • One player can no longer flood everyone with voice.
    • When the server crashes on Linux, it writes a crash report and prints one line saying what crashed. -nocrashreport turns this off.
    • Plugin mistakes that would stop a ReHLDS server are skipped where that is safe, and reported with the module that made them.
    • A console filter hides the console lines you never want to see, using rules you write yourself.
  10. 3.15.0-hs.5

Players keep getting world updates when plugins send a lot, and the console warns less and more clearly.

    Better

    • Warnings about data a player could not get are shorter, repeat less and say what to trim.
    • Settings that only xHLDS has now all start with xhlds_.

    Fixed

    • Players keep getting world updates when a plugin sends them a lot of messages.
    • A player who suddenly sees many new entities no longer freezes for a moment.

Older releases

  1. 3.15.0-hs.4

A fix for servers that stopped right after start-up.

    Fixed

    • The server no longer stops right after start-up, which happened with 3.15.0-hs.1 to hs.3.
  2. 3.15.0-hs.3

Steadier timing with -pingboost 5, fewer repeated warnings, and -pingboost 3 as in ReHLDS again.

    Better

    • With -pingboost 5 the server keeps the rate you set, also right after a map change.
    • A sound the server cannot play is reported once per map, not every time a player should hear it.
    • -pingboost 3 behaves exactly as in ReHLDS again.
  3. 3.15.0-hs.2

Server statistics with xhlds_stats and a friendlier Linux console.

    New

    • xhlds_stats shows how smoothly the server has been running over the last minute.
    • Linux console: Home, End and Delete work, and it remembers more of your commands. -conhistory keeps them across restarts.
    • -ignoresigint makes Ctrl+C print a reminder instead of stopping the server.

    Fixed

    • Linux console: typed keys are no longer lost, and a server started in the background no longer freezes when a key is pressed.
  4. 3.15.0-hs.1

The first xHLDS release: ReHLDS 3.15 with fixes, and your ReAPI, ReGameDLL and Metamod modules keep working.

    New

    • -pingboost 5, a new mode for Linux servers that keeps the server running at the rate you set.
    • The version command shows the xHLDS version, and panels and scripts that read it keep working.

    Fixed

    • The HLTV proxy no longer crashes on a bad player name.
    • Fixed rare server hangs and crashes caused by duplicate player names, some maps and some server settings.
